Bombardier, the world’s only manufacturer of both planes and trains is looking to add to its 71,700-strong workforce by leveraging Oracle Talent Management Cloud to help align industry talent with industry demand.

Part of Oracle HCM Cloud, the idea behind the initiative is to provide a single, global applicant tracking system (ATS) to complement its current plethora of talent across engineering, design and manufacturing in the aerospace and rail sectors.

Since upgrading to the latest version of Oracle Talent Management Cloud for recruiting, Bombardier has reduced recruiting time for technical and highly skilled positions, while increasing the quality and diversity of applicants.

This upgrade of recruiting capabilities is part of its overall strategic approach to talent acquisition across its global reach, with the speed in which it has to find qualified personnel paralleled by the speed in which Bombardier has to integrate its large, time-sensitive transportation solution orders.

The company’s international scope meant that a more efficient talent-finding process was required throughout the sourcing, assessment and acquisition phases and, by combining its two tracking systems into a single instance of Oracle Talent Management Cloud for recruiting, this has been achieved.

The results include faster time to hire through the automate nature of the process, increased candidate volume, reduced training time, and consistent innovation by automativally adopting upgrades made by Oracle to the system every six months.

“In an industry where technology, customer and consumer needs are always changing, Bombardier strives to employ the smartest and most focused talent to design and manufacture its high performance mobility solutions,” said Jean-Francois Deschenes, chief web officer and HRIS director, Bombardier, Inc. “We’ve gained a competitive edge in the global market with Oracle as our recruiting technology partner.

“The integrated, intuitive Oracle Talent Management Cloud recruiting system has enabled us to quickly and efficiently expand globally, hiring the most skilled people possible for the job at hand.”
