TCS Launches NVIDIA Unit to Drive AI Transformation

TCS’ new business unit with NVIDIA aims to speed up AI adoption with targeted industry solutions for sectors like manufacturing, telecoms and automotive

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has expanded its partnership with NVIDIA to create a dedicated business unit aimed at helping companies adopt AI quickly and effectively.

The new division under TCS’ AI.Cloud umbrella combines TCS’ expertise with NVIDIA’s advanced AI platforms to deliver tailored solutions for various industries, including manufacturing, banking and financial services (BFSI), telecoms, retail and automotive.

TCS is one of the leading IT and consulting service providers globally and the company’s new business unit is built on over five years of collaboration with NVIDIA.

This new venture combines the strengths of both organisations to offer bespoke AI-driven solutions.

A key element of this business unit is the use of TCS' global centres of excellence and NVIDIA’s AI Enterprise and Omniverse platforms.

TCS plans to leverage these assets to provide specialised offerings to meet the unique demands of different industries. For example, in the manufacturing sector, TCS introduces ‘Manufacturing AI for Industrials’, which integrates AI and large language models (LLMs) to transform raw data into meaningful insights.

Traditional LLMs often lack the contextual knowledge to interpret industry-specific data, but this offering is fine-tuned with TCS’ deep domain expertise and NVIDIA’s application frameworks.

For the BFSI sector, the new ‘TCS AI Spectrum’ aims to provide faster decision-making and improve risk management, among other benefits, by integrating AI into key operational areas. Built on the NVIDIA AI Enterprise platform, this solution also focuses on regulatory compliance and security, which are crucial in financial services.

The retail industry benefits from the ‘Cognitive Visual Receiving’ solution, which combines NVIDIA AI Enterprise and Omniverse technology to automate and enhance tasks such as quality checks and product identification in warehousing.

Meanwhile, the TCS AI-based Autonomous Vehicle Platform focuses on using NVIDIA’s Omniverse and AI Enterprise for simulations and synthetic data generation. This solution supports automotive manufacturers in developing self-driving features by reducing physical testing requirements.

Accelerating AI adoption with strategic capabilities

Enterprises are keen to embrace AI, but many lack a clear adoption strategy.

According to TCS’ ‘AI for Business Study’, every organisation’s journey with AI is unique and successful implementation requires an in-depth understanding of existing processes.

The new unit aims to help companies adopt AI at scale by providing customised strategies based on their specific contexts.

TCS has also developed a proprietary framework combining its domain expertise and NVIDIA’s AI technology to deliver “agentic AI solutions.”

This framework incorporates NVIDIA NIM microservices and agent blueprints, forming part of the NVIDIA AI Enterprise platform. TCS claims this combination will help clients achieve more tailored, scalable and impactful AI-driven outcomes.

Building future-ready digital twins

As part of its broader strategy, TCS is also developing digital twin solutions on the NVIDIA Omniverse platform.

Digital twins are virtual replicas of physical systems, which allow companies to simulate, monitor and optimise processes in a virtual environment. TCS’ digital twin initiatives cover various industries, from manufacturing to automotive and agriculture.

One such solution is the ‘Factory of the Future’, which aims to improve real-time factory planning and predictive maintenance, reducing downtime and accelerating time to market. Another is the ‘In-Car Digital Twin’, designed for the automotive industry to simulate autonomous vehicle features using physics-based simulations, which helps minimise the need for physical tests.

In the aerospace industry, TCS is working on ‘Aero Care Efficiency’, which employs digital twins to create more effective training environments and detect early failures in aircraft components.

There is also a solution aimed at agriculture called ‘Smart Farming Digital Twin’. It uses realistic simulations of soil interactions, terrain and weather to optimise farming processes and improve equipment performance.

The overarching aim of this expanded collaboration with NVIDIA is to boost TCS’ AI capabilities and assist key clients in achieving enterprise-wide transformation.

By combining TCS’ industry knowledge and NVIDIA’s technological expertise, this new unit is set to introduce innovative solutions that align with each client’s goals.
