As Stellantis advances toward its goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2038, it's expanding its SUSTAINera product portfolio in Brazil.

This expansion includes high-voltage batteries for electric vehicles and other key components.

By increasing the availability of remanufactured automotive parts in the region, Stellantis demonstrates its strong commitment to sustainability and the principles of a circular economy.

Expanding the SUSTAINera range in Brazil

Previously, Stellantis offered five lines of remanufactured parts under the SUSTAINera brand, including turbochargers, steering racks, automatic gearboxes, starters, and alternators.

The expansion now adds three more product lines—air conditioning compressors, rear differentials, and transfer cases—available at Stellantis dealerships and other distribution channels throughout Brazil.

Stellantis plans to expand the SUSTAINera catalogue to include 13 product families and over 180 components by the end of 2024.

New remanufactured parts like diesel engines, high-pressure pumps, injector nozzles, alloy wheels, and electronics will be introduced, all adhering to OEM specifications.

The SUSTAINera range is available for all Stellantis vehicle brands sold in Brazil and is the region's first and only remanufactured parts offered by an automotive original equipment manufacturer (OEM).

These parts are remanufactured to the same exacting standards as genuine MOPAR parts, ensuring equivalent performance and the same warranty.

For customers, this offers more affordable vehicle maintenance options without sacrificing quality.

SUSTAINera: gaining momentum

Since its global launch in 2022, SUSTAINera has gained traction in Brazil, initially offered through Stellantis brand dealerships.

With the portfolio’s expansion, consumers can now purchase SUSTAINera products online via the official store on Mercado Livre and through DPK, a specialised automotive parts distributor with 18 warehouses nationwide.

This broader availability ensures that more consumers have access to high-quality, sustainable automotive parts.

The SUSTAINera label highlights sustainable product alternatives within Stellantis' Parts & Services range, offering motorists and repair professionals eco-friendly, cost-effective options.

These parts are designed to reduce waste, conserve resources, and lower carbon footprints, playing a crucial role in Stellantis’ mission to decarbonise its operations by 2038.

SUSTAINera is at the forefront of the circular economy in Brazil, a commitment recognised by the industry with the 2023 ESG award from Automotive Business.

Stellantis' approach to the circular economy is centred on the 4R Strategy—Remanufacture, Repair, Reuse, and Recycle—aiming to extend the lifespan of products and reduce waste by reintegrating materials into the production cycle.

This strategy plays a vital role in Stellantis’ overall decarbonisation plan, which is crucial for achieving carbon neutrality by 2038.

What economic circularity looks like at Stellantis

Paulo Solti, Vice President of Parts and Services for Stellantis South America

"A remanufactured part is approximately 20% cheaper than a new part and it's a more sustainable option, using up to 80% less raw material and reducing CO2 emissions by up to 40% during the remanufacturing process." says Paulo Solti, Vice President of Parts and Services for Stellantis South America.

"This circular economy-focused business model underscores Stellantis' commitment to providing sustainable and affordable product and service solutions."

At Stellantis, economic circularity drives every aspect of the business. Initiatives are far-reaching, and addressing every stage of vehicle manufacturing.

The company's global business unit focuses on remanufacturing, repairing, reusing, and recycling to extend the lifespan of parts and vehicles while minimising waste.

Currently, Stellantis provides over 12,000 remanufactured parts across 38 product lines, including EV batteries.

It also operates 24 E-Repair centers globally, recycles materials from production and end-of-life vehicles, and reuses multi-brand parts in good condition.

By expanding the SUSTAINera portfolio, Stellantis is strengthening its sustainability efforts and setting new benchmarks in the automotive industry for a more circular and environmentally conscious future.
