Utae Nakanishi will become the new Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Renesas, boosting their growth and semiconductor innovation

Utae Nakanishi will become the new Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Renesas Electronics, effective January 1, 2025. 

Renesas is a global semiconductor manufacturer headquartered in Tokyo, Japan which employs over 20,000 people.

She will enhance Renesas’s HR systems and foster an innovative and inclusive workplace.

Nakanishi brings a wealth of experience from her current role at Micron Technology, where she is Vice President of Global Business Partnering and Talent Management.

She has been instrumental in shaping Micron's talent management strategies and aligning HR functions with business priorities to support the rapid growth of the memory industry.

Nakanishi's extensive career at Micron began in 1999, where she advanced through numerous HR roles.

Her global expertise is highlighted by her tenure in Japan, where she led the integration of Elpida and Rexchip into Micron’s operations.

Her efforts have focused on transforming HR teams to align with strategic objectives and fostering leadership development across diverse teams.

A graduate of the University of Oregon in political science and economics, Nakanishi is also passionate about mentoring leaders and inspiring young professionals to pursue global career opportunities.

In her new role at Renesas, Nakanishi will oversee the development of HR capabilities to support the company’s growth strategy, fostering a collaborative and supportive corporate culture.

This move is part of Renesas’ broader efforts to enhance its leadership team, aligning with its vision to drive innovation in semiconductor technologies for a connected and sustainable future.
