Technological leadership in smart metering

At the heart of Genus' manufacturing excellence is its technological innovation.

It has developed proprietary technologies for customised metering solutions tailored to different energy needs.

Genus has a state-of-the-art IT infrastructure, including IBM FlashSystem for advanced data management.

These capabilities enable the company to handle large volumes of proprietary design, engineering and R&D data, positioning it as a leader in the smart metering industry.

Workforce inclusivity

The US delegation was particularly impressed by Genus' commitment to workforce diversity.

More than 60% of the workforce at the manufacturing plant comprises women, demonstrating Genus' dedication to gender inclusivity in an industry traditionally dominated by men.

Further to this, the business provides employment opportunities for physically disabled individuals, setting a commendable standard for inclusivity in the manufacturing sector.

Ambassador Garcetti and his team praised Genus' efforts, stating that the company is an "exemplary model for the industry" by fostering innovation and social responsibility.

Global expansion and strategic partnerships

As part of its ongoing expansion, Genus is actively growing its presence beyond India.

The company recently ventured into smart gas metering, securing orders from key City Gas Distribution companies. Genus became the first Indian company to obtain the BIS licence for Diaphragm Gas Metres.

Jitendra expresses confidence in the company's export potential, stating: "We are confident and positive about our prospects in the export business."

With a robust order book valued at more than US$2.9bn, Genus is poised to expand its global footprint further.
