PTC to provide Lufthansa Technik with digital transformation IoT and PLM software
The Boston, U.S., based Software company PTC has announced it is to provide internet of things (IoT) and product lifecycle management (PLM) software to Germany’s Lufthansa Technik Group as part of their digital transformation.
Lufthansa Technik, a subsidiary of Lufthansa, provides technical aircraft services, encompassing maintenance, production and design.

The software will be deployed in Lufthansa Technik’s product development and engineering processes. PTC’s PLM software Windchill will be used both to protect Lufthansa Technik’s intellectual property across its supply chain as well as to enable improved collaboration between R&D, manufacturing and suppliers. IoT software ThingWorx, meanwhile, is said to allow more data-driven decisions via its monitoring of workshops and automation capabilities.
