The Highest Volume Battery Plant in the World

Manufacturing Global takes a closer look at the Tesla Gigafactory 1.

At just 30% completion, the lithium-ion battery and electric vehicle subassembly factory is already the highest-volume battery plant in the world. The facility has been designed to be powered primarily by solar and will be a net-zero energy factory on completion. 

The factory reached an annualized rate of roughly 20GWh in 2018, helping Tesla to currently produce more batteries in terms of kWh than all other carmakers combined.
