Esprit Automation: British Manufacturer of Cutting Machines
In June 2020, Esprit announced the launch of it’s new industrial fibre laser cutting machine , designed and built in the UK. Launched with 2 versions (Photon One and Photon 5G), the Esprit Photon laser machines are highly accurate and quick machines, with a g-force acceleration of 5g. The machines are designed to be easy to use and achieve high investment return because of their high productivity rate and low operating costs.
The Photon machines are built for the future, optimising efficiency and simplifying use. Not only will the machines produce exceptional accuracy at high speeds, they also help businesses reduce monthly electricity bills and operating costs. Using Espirt’s LiveRegen technology, when energy is lost during each deceleration stage, kinetic energy is lost as heat. However, LiveRegen will capture the excess energy and temporarily store it to be used for the next 5g acceleration.

- LiveNest Vision System
This system is designed to reduce lost time when ensuring the loaded plate is perfectly aligned for the cutting process. The LiveNest feature simplifies the process by automatically detecting the plate, allowing every Photon machine to start cutting almost instantaneously. Also, to avoid rejects and wasted materials, the system will alert the operator of any issues and errors. - LiveControl CNC
To streamline the process of cutting extra parts, which is normally a time-consuming and inefficient job. LiveControl allows the operator to extract a single item from any previous job and manually cut it even on a piece of scrap. - LiveGuard Anti Collision
During the cutting process, using high-speed lasers, there is a risk of the laser head hitting any ‘tilted’ parts (a section that has been cut and is now at an angle). This could result in damage to the laser head and causing a disruption to the production process for repairs. To avoid collision, even at 5g acceleration, LiveGuard accesses risk and sends a risk assessment directly to the operator giving them 3 options of next steps. The options are: proceed, follow an alternative safer path or to add micro-tags to key risk zones. During the process, LiveGuard will protect the laser cutting head at all times with an automatic collision detection sensor.
