CHINT celebrates its 40th anniversary
Established in Shanghai in 1984, CHINT is now a prominent global provider of smart energy solutions, specialising in green energy & low-carbon technologies

As a smart energy powerhouse, CHINT has carved a niche in the sector through relentless manufacturing innovation and the creation of a broad array of electrical products.

For 40 years, the company has led and transformed smart energy management by manufacturing smarter, greener technologies.

CHINT continues to leverage its vast expertise across several pivotal areas including smart electricity, green energy, industrial automation and control, and intelligent home solutions.

From a workshop to worldwide manufacturing

CHINT was established in 1984

Starting in a modest family workshop in Wenzhou in 1984, CHINT has grown into a manufacturing giant that presides over the global electrical and renewables landscape.

This year it proudly celebrates its 40th anniversary, marking four decades of substantial growth and leadership in manufacturing both low and high-voltage electrical solutions.

CHINT is contributing to a future of better smart energy management across industries, helping manufacturers meet vital sustainability and climate related targets.

It's especially doing this on home soil. China is one of the largest global manufacturing hubs, producing nearly one-third of the world's industrial output.

With the government's climate targets which include reaching peak emissions by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2060, manufacturers have been searching to speed up the transition towards sustainable energy practices.

Smart energy management is one of the most impactful strategies to do so.

CHINT's journey is full of milestones and innovations that have not only shaped its story but also the industry at large.

From securing the first UL certification for low-voltage electrical products for a Chinese company in 1995 to pioneering 'intelligent circuit breaker' technology in 2005, CHINT has been at the forefront of electrical engineering advancements.

The momentum continued as CHINT expanded its reach in China's solar power sector in 2010 and set up a record-breaking 2,000MW solar facility in Ningxia by 2018.

The company's relentless pursuit of excellence saw it generating a whopping US$18bn in operating revenue by 2022, cementing its position among the Top 500 Chinese Enterprises for over two decades.

In 2023 CHINT's global influence spanned over 140 countries with a workforce exceeding 50,000 employees.

Additionally, the company boasts a robust network of manufacturing bases and R&D centres that underline its commitment to innovation and quality.
