Dassault Systèmes and Mistral AI have partnered to offer AI-powered industrial solutions to manufacturers, accelerating the Generative Economy

Dassault Systèmes and Mistral AI have partnered to accelerate the introduction of frontier AI to industries like manufacturing.
Since AI’s introduction to the manufacturing sector it has taken the industry by storm.

Rockwell Automation’s recent ‘9th annual State of Smart Manufacturing report’ demonstrated how deeply AI has gripped the industry. It was ranked as the biggest investment manufacturers are focused on.

85% of respondents in the report had already invested, or planned to invest, in AI or machine learning

Gen AI was also identified as the biggest investment area for the next 12 months, above collaborative robots and autonomous vehicles.

Here, we take a look at what this could mean for manufacturers.

A partnership preparing for the Generative Economy

The partnership comes as no surprise when considering both companies' commitments to cutting-edge technological development.

Mistral AI is a leading AI development company, which provides a leading balance between accuracy, responsiveness and sustainability performance.

Both companies are strong believers that we are entering a Generative Economy, where virtual worlds and experiences will become an integral part of real-world products and services.

For over 40 years, Dassault Systèmes has empowered people and businesses to provide sustainable innovations in the sectors such as manufacturing, healthcare, and cities.

The partnership uniquely combines virtual twin experiences and sovereign cloud infrastructure by Dassault Systèmes and Large Language Models (LLM) by Mistral AI.

“We are delighted to forge this partnership with Dassault Systèmes, reaffirming our shared commitment to the high performance, efficiency, security, and privacy of generative artificial intelligence for all,” says Arthur Mensch, CEO and Co-Founder of Mistral AI.

“By leveraging Dassault Systèmes’ sovereign infrastructure and industrial solutions, we are advancing our shared mission of driving the use of cutting-edge generative AI for all.”

Experience-led technology

Entering the era of the Generative Economy, the manufacturing industry has to transition from producing product to becoming more experience-focused.

It must do so whilst being sustainable- by leveraging virtual worlds to extend and improve the real one.

The recent progress of AI technologies such as Mistral AI’s is an opportunity to accelerate this journey.

In combining scientific modelling, simulation and AI, virtual twin experiences offer solutions to empower the workforce of the future.

They could be the answer to industrial needs for reliability, whilst preserving intellectual property.

“This partnership unites two of the most transformative technologies that are shaping the future of society,” says Sebastien Massart, Chief Corporate Strategist at Dassault Systèmes.

“Our virtual twins enable the brightest minds from key industries to experiment and innovate with real-world accuracy without using a single material,” Sebastien continues.

“Now, with the introduction of Mistral AI's commercial large language models, that innovation cycle will take place at never-before-seen speeds.

The partnership will deliver generative experiences, powered by LLMs, which quickly reveal and navigate large amounts of industry knowledge to elevate data patrimonies for Dassault Systèmes 350,000 industrial customers.

“We are proud to empower our 350,000 industrial customers with these new solutions. Generative experiences will open new opportunities for tackling our societal challenges and sustainability objectives at new scales.”

'Large Language Models as a Service'

It will also offer a new DS Outscale 'Large Language Models as a Service' (LLMaaS), leveraging sovereign infrastructure to provide Mistral AI with commercial large language models- benefitting from the highest security and compliance standards, including SecNumCloud.

“We are continuing our journey of reinventing industries worldwide with AI-powered virtual twins," says Florence Hu-Aubigny, Executive Vice President of R&D for Dassault Systèmes.
