Flex, the global manufacturing and supply chain solutions provider has announced its acquisition of FreeFlow to expand its circular economy services

Global manufacturer and supply chain solutions provider Flex has announced its acquisition of FreeFlow, a company that through asset disposition and digital circular economy capabilities serves global secondary markets.

FreeFlow defends primary sales channels whilst enabling customers to sell surplus and returned inventory on a comprehensive B2B digital marketplace platform. By integrating this platform, Flex can expand its customer services across the lifestyle, data centre and enterprise markets, enhancing sustainability through second-life products and creating new revenue streams.

FreeFlow’s platform is set to bolster Flex’s product lifecycle services portfolio, which spans advanced manufacturing, vertical integration, supply chain, design, post-sale and post-production capabilities.

One area this acquisition particularly benefits is Flex’s post-sale services, expanding existing circular economy capabilities and reverse logistics which include refurbishment, recycling, asset recovery, repair and sustainability analytics.

Flex intends to utilise FreeFlow’s digital circular economy reporting and tracking features in major regions and new industry segments to help customers securely access secondary markets. This process should help increase the adoption of sustainable solutions.

Michael Hartung, president of Agility Solutions at Flex

"The acquisition of FreeFlow reaffirms Flex’s commitment to deliver the highest value to our customers, addressing their evolving business and sustainability needs across the product lifecycle while increasing our addressable market,” said Michael Hartung, President of Agility Solutions at Flex.

“This addition further differentiates our end-to-end services and will enable a wide range of customers, from cloud to lifestyle, to realise the benefits of second life products, and ultimately deliver on their environmental commitments.”
