Miele: 125 Years Of Quality
Since its founding in 1899, global manufacturer Miele has embraced principles of quality, sustainability and innovation.
A global manufacturer and supplier of premium domestic appliances, Miele has an extensive portfolio of kitchen, laundry and floor care products.
The company also sells medical technology and services, systems and machines for use in hotels and offices.
With durable and energy-efficient solutions, around 22,700 people work for Miele worldwide in 2023 the company announced revenue of US$5.32bn.
In late June, Miele welcomed around 150 journalists to the IFA Kick-off in Berlin, marking the company’s anniversary.
This comes before Miele presents its new products, which include 270 appliances on a stand area of 3,000 square metres.
A stand where two-star chef Michelin Alexander Herrmann will provide tasty food samples.
Dr Reinhard Zinkann, Managing Partner of the Miele Group showed at the IFA Kick-off a preview of the manufacturer's premium trade fair innovations.
These innovations included Miele’s new ‘Nova Edition’ series of dryers and washing machines designed to provide maximum protection for textiles.
“ Like no other company in the industry, Miele stands for quality and longevity," says Richard, “ Made by Miele is indivisible.”
Miele operates strict quality standards across its plants, including the eight located in Germany.
These plants undergo continuous monitoring and improvement as Miele strives to optimise operations.
Miele's commitment to sustainability
Core to this is the company’s commitment to sustainability, which at the IFA focused on including AI and creating new opportunities for circularity.
"We want to give our appliances a second life and are focussing on the reusability and recycling of appliance components and materials," comments Richard. Miele in this vein continues its focus on resource-saving production and repair-friendly, durable products.
At IFA the company will also be presenting a concept study of an appliance made from fully recycled material that can be reproduced through a fully circular production system.
Miele announced back in 2022 that its sustainably designed IFA stand with modular structures would be reused for the third time at this trade fair.
The company will be prominently represented in the IFA ‘Sustainability Zone’ exhibition area this year, presenting innovative technologies and approaches to circularity.
These presentations will reference Miele's climate-friendly logistics, environmentally friendly cleaning agents and waste avoidance.

Miele's AI investment
When it comes to AI, Miele is utilising the technology through its entire product life cycle. AI is being used to optimise product quality and production, for Smart Food ID cooking detection and in research and development through software solutions.
"With AI Diagnostics, we offer our users self-help in the event of appliance malfunctions and thus save many unnecessary customer service calls," adds Richard, referring to the latest use of AI in the official Miele app.
In addition to Miele’s upcoming AI and sustainability integrations, the manufacturer is also revealing two new colours for its built-in appliances in the handleless ArtLine range.
The ArtLine range includes kitchen appliances and smart-touch technology, including ovens, hobs, dishwashers and coffee machines.
The two colours are a versatile mixture of grey and beige and a black Obsidian tone. Customers can harmoniously integrate them as overall design concepts or as stylish accents.
