Siemens and Accenture are further advancing digital manufacturing through a new business group
The Accenture Siemens Business Group will co-develop solutions to clients that combine technologies from the Siemens Xcelerator with Accenture's data & AI

Many announcements have already come out of Hannover Messe 2025, the world leading industrial trade fair that brings manufacturers across the globe together to showcase innovations, discuss pressing challenges and pursue broader collaboration.

The biggest so far? The creation of the new Accenture Siemens Business Group.

Strengthening a long-standing alliance that has helped manufacturers across the sector digitally transform, the group will see Siemens and Accenture jointly develop and market solutions that integrate Siemens' industrial AI, automation and software with Accenture's data and AI capabilities.

Bringing together 7,000 professionals with manufacturing and IT expertise, this business group aims to enable manufacturers to embed AI at the core of their operations, driving efficiency and innovation.

By leveraging Siemens' technology and Accenture's expertise in AI and digital transformation, manufacturers will benefit from enhanced product development, frontline execution and operational security.

Roland Busch, President and Chief Executive Officer at Siemens

ā€œBy strengthening our partnership, we combine the unique capabilities of two market leaders: Siemens’ technology, access to data and deep domain knowledge in software, automation and industrial AI with Accenture’s power to apply data and AI in engineering and manufacturing," says Roland Busch, President and CEO of Siemens.

ā€œWith the new business group, we will empower customers in all industries to supercharge their entire value chain by embedding AI at the core of their businesses.ā€

A track record of impactful digital solutions

Accenture and Siemens have a history of delivering impactful digital solutions.

For KION Group, a leading supply chain solutions company, the two firms have unified and optimised core engineering processes using Siemens Teamcenter as a common product lifecycle management (PLM) platform.

This project enhances KION’s engineering processes through simulation, generative AI and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).

Accenture and Siemens have also worked with Navantia, a Spanish state-owned shipbuilding and defence company, implementing a new product development platform for the company using Siemens Teamcenter and Capital Logic Designer.

This initiative enables digital twins of Navantia's vessels and has improved product design quality and reduced design and manufacturing costs by 20%.

Scaling engineering & manufacturing solutions

The Accenture Siemens Business Group will provide a range of tailored solutions for different manufacturing verticals, focused on the creation of software-defined products and factories.

These verticals include aerospace, defence, automotive, consumer goods, electronics, heavy equipment, industrial machinery and semiconductors.

The group is also set to introduce new engineering services designed to transform engineering and R&D models.

These services will assist manufacturers in building global engineering capability centres, advancing the development of software-defined products.

Additionally, they will streamline the use of MBSE and accelerate the adoption of Accenture's and Siemens' software-defined vehicle (SDV) framework for automakers.

The group's manufacturing services will focus on helping businesses implement, harmonise and migrate manufacturing execution systems, enabling real-time tracking and control of production.

Solutions will also be provided to increase AI-driven shopfloor operations and automation, ensuring manufacturers can unlock greater efficiency.

The group will also strengthen cybersecurity for operational technology (OT) devices and critical engineering and manufacturing systems through managed security services such as Accenture's Managed Extended Detection and Response (MxDR) platform.

Beyond manufacturing, the business group will provide industrial asset services, covering after-sales support, maintenance, repairs and overhaul.

Reinventing industrial processes with AI

The Accenture Siemens Business Group will utilise Accenture's Industry X digital engineering and manufacturing assets to empower its solutions.

Manufacturers will benefit from AI-driven agents and customisable foundation models designed for simulation and robotics, ensuring robust governance across all AI components.

Agentic AI, an advanced form of AI automation capable of autonomous decision-making, will be critical to the group's applications.

This form of AI will enable manufacturers to significantly enhance product development efficiency by automatically assessing the feasibility, cost and performance of engineering changes and new designs.

Other applications include improving PLM, optimising asset management and servicing industrial equipment, and enabling remote operations.

With this collaboration, Accenture and Siemens are building a smarter, more efficient and more resilient future for industrial operations, helping manufacturers better evolve and compete in a landscape of ongoing digital transformation.

Julie Sweet, Chair and CEO of Accenture

ā€œEngineering and manufacturing are the next digital frontier,ā€ adds Julie Sweet, chair and CEO, Accenture.

ā€œThe Accenture Siemens Business Group scales the power of automation, data and AI to help clients reinvent their products and how they make them.

"Together with our long-standing partner Siemens, we will increase speed and efficiency, reduce cost and strengthen the digital core, which is essential for continuous reinvention and the creation of new value.ā€
