Boeing, Airbus and others to speak at the Paris Air Show
Today, 17 June, saw the opening of the week-long International Paris Air Show.
An important event for the aerospace and defence industry, the show is held at Le Bourget on the outskirts of Paris. As the BBC reports, almost 2,500 companies are to exhibit, attracting an estimated 320,000 visitors over the course of the week.
We took a look at the agenda and selected some events for those hoping to make the most of the fair.
Keynote - Dr. G. Hyslop (Chief Technical Officer, Boeing)
The Boeing Company is the United States’ largest player in the aerospace industry. A defense contractor as well as a civilian manufacturer, the company’s designs range from aircraft to satellites. As CTO, Hyslop oversees the technological side of the business, in terms of vision, strategy and investment. The keynote will take place at the Paris Air Lab on Wednesday, 19 June, from 10:00 - 10:10.

Boeing, SAFRAN and Bombardier; US, French and Canadian aerospace giants, respectively, are to take part in a roundtable discussion on the future of supply chains, privinding an OEM perspective on their supply chain strategies. The conference will take place at the Conference Center on Wednesday, 19 June, from 10:10 - 11:05.
“Flying cars, really?” - Rémi Cornubert (Consultant and author, expert in mobilities of the future, Advancy) and Eduardo Dominguez Puerta (Head of Urban Air Mobility, Airbus)
Airbus, the multinational European aerospace corporation, is a staple of the show. Its newly appointed Head of Urban Air Mobility is in charge of a number of the company’s projects, including CityAirbus, an electric vertical take-off and landing air vehicle, Vahana, a self-piloted eVTOL small passenger aircraft and VOOM, an on-demand helicopter booking platform. The discussion will take place at the Paris Air Lab on Wednesday, 19 June, from 16:30 - 17:30.
