Canvass Analytics’ AI platform helps cut energy costs by 4%

With a mission to “make AI easy-to-use so that the industrial sector can accelerate their transformation into a profitable and environmentally sustainable industry,” Canvass Analytics is a global leader in AI for the industrial sector. 

In an announcement made by the company, it is currently helping a major food ingredient manufacturer to significantly reduce its plant’s energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions with the use of its AI platform.

After just one year of use, the company has reduced its annual energy costs by 4 per cent, and its emissions by over £9mn.

“This world leading manufacturer is using Canvass AI to address three of their top operational challenges: the need to reduce costs, optimize OEE, and reduce their environmental footprint. With Canvass AI, the operations team are able to use AI first-hand to make data-driven decisions that keep their operations within specification, ensuring throughput is maintained while reducing waste,” commented Humera Malik, CEO of Canvass AI. 

Energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions

According to the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), the food sector accounts for 30 per cent of the total energy consumption around the world. It also contributes more than 20% of the total global greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs).

WIth expectation that the consumption will rise by 5 per cent in the next five years, the American ingredient manufacturer has implemented the Canvass AI Platform to achieve cost efficiencies and reduce its operations’ environmental footprint.
