Students at Cranfield School of Management were joined by leading London business Market Gravity this week, to learn more about corporate entrepreneurship and business innovation.

Peter Sayburn, Co-Founder and CEO of Market Gravity, visited students on Cranfield’s MSc Management and Entrepreneurship course to share his expertise and thoughts on the concept of entrepreneurship within big businesses. They then took part in an immersive proposition design workshop where they learned how to turn customer insight into a winning idea ready for market launch.

Sayburn is a serial entrepreneur, investor and co-author of Market Gravity's business novel Defying Gravity: adventures of a corporate entrepreneur. He was accompanied by members of the team from Market Gravity, including principal consultant, Saurav Chaudhuri, who is a former Cranfield student and has gone on to lead some of the UK’s biggest new product development projects.

Cranfield University Senior Lecturer, Dr Muhammad Azam Roomi, says: “This was a great opportunity for our students to learn about corporate entrepreneurs first hand from industry experts in an engaging way. The team’s presentation inspired the students to think about the benefits and impact of entrepreneurialism. Cranfield’s Management and Entrepreneurship course combines practical work experience with world-class teaching, which equips students with the skills to start their own business, grow a family business or innovate within an existing organisation. Thank you to Peter, Saurav and the team for joining us.”

Sayburn adds: “The students were really responsive and were keen to get involved, especially with the interactive session. It was great to work with the next generation of entrepreneurs and leaders and share our knowledge about innovation, and how corporate entrepreneurs are key to driving big businesses forward. They were a great group to work with and we wish them all the best with their studies.”

The session took place on Thursday 3rd March at Cranfield University, Bedford.

Market Gravity is a proposition design consultancy with offices in London, Edinburgh and New York. It helps some of the world’s leading companies create and launch innovative products and services. Clients include Boots, Barclaycard, HSBC and The Automobile Association. Peter Sayburn founded the company in 2009 with Gideon Hyde.
