Johnson Controls's booth at the 2024 AHR Expo
Hosted in Orlando, Florida this is the largest event in the world exclusively focused on the HVACR industry- showcasing manufacturing progress & innovation

HVAC systems have become increasingly important to modern manufacturing, as evolving environmental conditions and emerging technologies reshape industry needs.

As weather patterns become more extreme due to climate change, maintaining a stable indoor climate is essential for ensuring worker safety and comfort, boosting productivity and reducing risks.

With the rise of energy-efficient technologies and sustainability goals, modern HVAC systems are designed to minimise energy consumption, helping manufacturers reduce their carbon footprint and comply with environmental regulations.

The ability of advanced HVAC systems to precisely control temperature, humidity and air quality is also critical for many modern manufacturing processes.

These include precision manufacturing and maintaining the longevity of sensitive machinery.

In an era where innovation drives competitiveness, HVAC systems are indispensable for creating environments that support both human and technological advancement.

Influential manufacturers realise this and will showcase their innovations at the 2025 Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHR) Expo.

Hosted in Orlando, Florida from the 10-12 of February, this is the world's largest HVACR marketplace event, hosting more than 1,800 exhibitors and 50,000 attendees annually.

Featured contributors include Siemens, Johnson Controls and Danfoss, all of which are unveiling extensive HVACR innovations designed to boost productivity, results and energy efficiency.

Johnson Controls

A regular featured manufacturer at the Expo,  Johnson Controls is set to showcase its latest smart building and sustainable solutions at AHR 2025.

These solutions include its innovative HVAC systems that integrate automation, energy efficiency and real-time data analytics to optimise building performance.

The latest version of Johnson Controls's Metasys 14.0 building automation system enhances building performance and sustainability, with improved energy management, security and user experience.

Additionally, its NSW 8000 Sensors optimise HVAC, lighting and ventilation for up to 30% energy savings, while enabling predictive maintenance.

Focusing on reducing carbon emissions, Johnson Controls will also be presenting AI- and IoT-powered solutions that create adaptive environments while improving operational efficiency and occupant comfort.

The company is also unveiling further products that support the transition to net-zero energy buildings, addressing both environmental and technological challenges.

Located at Booth 2101, the manufacturer will also be supporting sustainability goals with cold-climate heat pumps and low-GWP cooling solutions.

Celebrating its 140th anniversary and the 150th anniversary of the YORK brand, Johnson Controls's latest YORK YMAE Air-to-Water Inverter Scroll Modular Heat Pump offers a high-efficiency, future-ready HVAC decarbonisation solution for commercial and institutional buildings.

Lei Schlitz, vice president and president, Global Products, Johnson Controls

“From state-of-the-art building automation systems to advanced cold-climate heat pumps, attendees will see how these innovations drive performance and efficiency for our customers,” said Lei Schlitz, vice president and president, Global Products, Johnson Controls.

“For 140 years, Johnson Controls has met and exceeded the demands of even the most complex environments. Today, our real-world expertise, proven solutions and cutting-edge technology empower our customers to achieve their goals of enhancing operational efficiency, improving occupant comfort and well-being and reducing environmental impact.”

Siemens

At the AHR Expo 2025, Siemens is also showcasing a range of cutting-edge technologies aimed at transforming building automation, energy efficiency and sustainability.

Key highlights include the Siemens Desigo CC building management platform, which integrates a variety of systems such as HVAC, lighting and security into one cohesive solution.

Siemens will also be presenting its Siveillance security systems, which feature advanced AI capabilities for smarter, more responsive building protection.

Providing energy-efficient solutions for smart buildings is a major focus for the manufacturer, who will share innovations in digital twins and predictive analytics to optimise energy consumption.

Siemens will also share its advanced controls for low-carbon systems, such as heat pumps and building electrification solutions, enabling businesses to reduce their environmental footprint while maintaining operational efficiency.

Additionally, their IoT-enabled devices and sensors play a pivotal role in enhancing data collection and providing actionable insights for facility management.

All of these products reflect the findings of the company's latest report 'Digital Transformation, Sustainable Returns' which highlighted that advances in digital infrastructure massively boost sustainability.

An impressive 55% of respondents said that digitalisation is helping decarbonisation, something which the company believes must urgently accelerate.

Thomas Kiessling, Chief Technology Officer at Siemens Smart Infrastructure

" We are not decarbonising fast enough," says Thomas Kiessling, Chief Technology Officer at Siemens Smart Infrastructure. "We have to ask ourselves, how can we accelerate progress and scale-up our efforts? In my view, we have to do more to harness digital technologies and collaborative innovation to build smarter infrastructure and enhance the capacity of existing systems."

Danfoss

At AHR Expo 2025, Danfoss will display its latest innovations for the HVAC/R industry under the theme “Transition Forward” at booth #1301.

Visitors will learn about Danfoss's diverse portfolio of sustainable solutions, which cover data centres, chillers, refrigeration systems, heat pumps and more.

A standout highlight is the manufacturer's BOCK HGX56 CO2 T compressor, which won the Innovation Award in the Refrigeration category.

This transcritical CO2 (R744) compressor is ideal for industrial refrigeration, cold storage, ice sports facilities and heat pumps, including process and district heating applications.

With its expanded 6-cylinder capacity, the HGX56 CO2 T allows for more efficient CO2 heat pumps and industrial refrigeration systems, reducing system complexity and investment costs.

Other featured technologies include the manufacturer's CO2 solutions for food retail to reduce carbon footprints, its MyDrive Harmonics software for mitigating harmonic distortions in HVAC systems and its EHW194 hose for efficient data centre cooling.

This Expo also marks a celebration for Danfoss- the 30th anniversary of Danfoss Turbocor, a leader in oil-free compressor technology.

Since its acquisition by Danfoss, Turbocor has installed over 140,000 compressors across the world, helping customers reduce energy consumption and lower carbon emissions.
