The future of women in the manufacturing industry

Getting girls into STEM
Manufacturing Digital LIVE will explore the future of women in the manufacturing industry, with Helena Jochberger, Global Lead Manufacturing at CGI

Women only make up 37% of manufacturing workers globally. Many factors are responsible for this: girls being discouraged from STEM at a young age, the view of the sector as ‘for men’ and discrimination against the women who do make it in the sector.

In order for manufacturing to be an attractive career path for women, manufacturers need to change the sector’s image and highlight the female role models blazing a trail in the industry. This will be a subject explored at Manufacturing Digital LIVE, a free virtual event on Wednesday 6th December 2023.

The future of women in manufacturing at CGI

“Our solutions and services help manufacturers gain the strategic and operational data insights needed to ensure sustained growth, cost reductions and operational excellence — all while taking the appropriate actions to move toward a green and sustainable future," said Helena Jochberger, Vice-President, Global Lead Manufacturing at CGI. "As manufacturing environments become more complex, transforming data into actionable business insights will be critical to address new market realities and drive smart, sustainable and resilient operations.”

In a keynote presentation at Manufacturing Digital LIVE, Jockberger will discuss her career journey as a woman in manufacturing, she’ll share insights into the integration of data analytics, AI and automation and uncover the transformative power of digital technologies like IoT and cloud computing.

Jochberger will also discuss embracing sustainability and unlocking competitive advantages in the manufacturing landscape.
